05-18-2025 Growing Chicks!
The chicks are starting to look like little Buddhas and have more muscle control than a week ago. They don’t seem to fall over much anymore. They are equal competitors for food and are not shy about trying to grab a morsel from their sibling. There is a video of dinner time on the 18th in the archives. One chick tries to eat a feather that is way too big and not oriented the right way. Rebecca notices and seems to say “Hold still” as she attempts to snag the errant feather. It is amazing that they eat just about everything, including a lot of feathers! We are making arrangements for banding on May 28th pending weather, etc.
