03-22-2024 Late Season Snowstorm

3/22/2024

A winter weather advisory this morning has our dedicated parents enduring wind, cold and snow. Temperature is 28F with an ESE wind of 8mph and wind chill of 21F.  The nest box faces SE, which peregrines prefer, and it generally works well since the prevailing winds are typically from the west. Kewpee had the early morning incubation shift and at times had a dusting of snow on this back.  They had a shift change around 8:30 AM and we see two eggs.   There are a couple of videos from this morning in the archive.  Maybe another egg today?
