Rebecca laid the first egg early in the morning on Sunday, 3/19/2017

Rebecca and Kewpee are now visiting the nest box multiple times a day and both have been scraping the gravel in the bottom of the box to create a shallow depression where, hopefully, eggs will be laid in late March.

One of Kalamazoo’s  first successfully hatched peregrine falcons, Promise, was mentioned in the July 18, 2016 issue of TIME magazine, which detailed his relation to the Kalamazoo Promise. The article, covering “240 Reasons to Celebrate America Right Now,” listed Kalamazoo at number 145 as, “the city where high school grads go to college for free.”

The young Kalamazoo Peregrines continue their training in downtown.  As they are roaming more, they are more difficult to see predictably especially midday. 

Checker (22/C Black/blue) returned home this afternoon after spending about 10 days at the Braveheart Raptor Rehabilitation Center

We have some good news from the Braveheart Raptor Rehabilitation Center about Checker.

The three Peregrine chicks in Kalamazoo are active and playing a lot with each other. 

Checker, the young male Peregrine who had fallen into the parapet has had another mishap.

Ron Foor, Community President of Fifth Third Bank and Gail Walter of the Audubon Society of Kalamazoo were guests on the Lori Moore Show
