05-04-2022 The third chick has hatched!

5/4/2022

The third chick emerged this morning around 6:30.  The first two chicks have gotten quite a head start on this one since they hatched on 4/30 and 5/1.  There are a couple video clips taken just after the chick is out of the egg and still wet and pretty floppy!  In one video clip Rebecca is just leaving the nest and Kewpee arrives to stand guard.  If you look closely you can see the third chick between its siblings.  Rebecca then returns with breakfast, and you can see the tiny chick starting to move a bit.  Rebecca has been a great mom in previous years, so she has experience with the size differences.  Hopefully the fourth egg will hatch soon.
