03-06-2021 Spring is in the Air

It is time to get caught up on the latest from our favorite feathered characters.  Rebecca and Kewpee have been here all winter and have visited the nest box regularly, even in the snow. They know that it is spring, and they have renewed their bond by visiting the nest box frequently and creating a scrape in the gravel.  Although I do not have a report that mating has been seen, most likely they are mating, and  we expect to see eggs soon.  In the previous five years, the first egg has been laid between March 16 and March 22.  So, stay tuned!
